LICENSE FOR SAW MILL

A Sawmill License is an official permit allowing businesses to process timber into lumber, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and forestry regulations. Governed by the Forest Act, 1927, and the Saw Mill (License) Rules, 2012, this license promotes sustainable wood processing, resource management, and safe working conditions in the timber industry.

  2. Copy of valid Trade License [Attested by First-Class gazette officer]
  3. Copy of Certificate of nationality [Attested and forwarded by local government representative]
  4. Copy of documents of property ownership of the land of saw mill [Attested by First-Class gazette officer]
  5. Copy of receipt of most recent land tax payment
  6. Copy of TIN Certificate/income tax Certificate [Required for the purpose of the TIN]
  7. Copy of VAT registration Certificate [Required for the Purpose of VAT number]
  8. Photograph [3 copies; Attested by First-Class gazette officer]
  9. Treasury Challan [Obtained by submission of required fees]

Step by step all process

Step 1 Application Form Submission: Collect the prescribed Form from the Divisional Forests Office by the applicant and submit the filled-in Form, along with necessary documents, to the Divisional Forests Officer.

Step 2 Verification and Investigation: The application undergoes thorough verification within 30 days. Following this verification process, the Divisional Forests Officer forwards the application package to the concerned investigation officer, typically a Forester or another senior official. The investigation report, crucial for the application process, is expected to be prepared within 60 days.

Step 3: Review by committee: After the investigation report is prepared by the assigned official within 60 days, it is forwarded along with the application package to the district committee empowered to issue licenses. The committee thoroughly reviews the application and investigation report, deliberates on the information provided, and makes a decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the application. Once the committee reaches a decision, they promptly forward the application package along with their decision to the Divisional Forests Officer, ensuring the entire process is completed within 30 days. After the Divisional Forests Officer informs the applicant regarding the decision on their application

Step 4 Fee payment & receive license: The applicant proceeds to pay the license fee upon confirmation from the Officer. Once the fee is paid, the applicant submits the treasury challan at the concerned office. After submitted Challan, the applicant finally got the license
