LICENSE FOR INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY (IGW) SERVICES LICENSE

The License for International Gateway (IGW) Services in Bangladesh authorizes entities to provide international voice and data transmission services, enabling connectivity between domestic and international communication networks.   1. Completed Application Form in prescribed Format [The applicant should submit 2(two) copies of its application with all relevant documents of which 01 (one) should be the original and one copy. The complete application also has to be submitted in CD (non-scanned PDF Format)]

  2. Organization/Company: Description of the organization/company background including Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum and Articles of Association, experience of the company or of its shareholders, directors, employees and partners in current and previous business ventures [Original copy duly attested by First Class gazette officer]

  3. Stakeholders: List of shareholders with details of equity ownership. Description of owners, shareholders, directors, partners, associates, shareholding companies (and their owners, directors). The individual level eventual ownership shall be established and detailed resume of those individuals should be provided [Original]

  4. Business Activities: Details of directors and shareholders with equity ownership with relation to other Licensees and applicants for License along with bio-data and photo [Original]

  5. Business Activities: Most recent financial results and management accounts for applicant and its shareholders/investors. Audited report of the last 3 (three) years (if applicable) [Original copy duly attested by First Class gazette officer]

  6. Application on a company letterhead [Original]

  7. Relevant Fees in the Form of Pay Order/Bank Draft (application fee and offer security money) [Nominated Bank made payable to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC)]

  8. Up to date VAT and Tax given to the Government Fund in the last 3 (three) years along with Income Tax Clearance Certificate (if required) and TIN Certificate [Original copy duly attested by First Class gazette officer]

  9. Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Articles of Association (AoA) or Agreement of Partnership (if applicable) [Original copy duly attested by First Class gazette officer]

  10. Authorization to the Authorized Signatory (Resolution of the Board of Directors/Power of Attorney duly Notarized) [Original copy duly attested by First Class gazette officer]

  11. (i) Bank Solvency Certificate in which bank shall certify the total deposited money of the applicant.

    (ii) Commitment of bank for giving loan for the proposed project (Letter of comfort from scheduled bank)

Step by Step all process:

Step 1: Form Collection & Submission: To obtain a License for International Gateway (IGW) Services, start by visiting the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) website to download the prescribed application form. Complete the form with accurate and detailed information. Next, make the necessary payments, including application fees and any associated charges, via bank drafts. Collect the bank draft receipts as proof of payment. Once you have the filled-in application form, the supporting documents, and the bank draft receipts, submit these to the Chairman’s office at BTRC.

Step 2: Verification and Approval: After submission, the BTRC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MoPT), will verify the application and supporting documents. This involves a thorough review to ensure all regulatory requirements and standards are met. The BTRC and MoPT may request additional information or clarifications during this stage. Approval is granted if the application fulfills all necessary criteria.

Step 3: Making Final Payments: Upon receiving approval from the BTRC and MoPT, the next step is to make any remaining payments required for the issuance of the license. These payments are typically made via bank drafts. Ensure that all payments are completed as per the instructions provided by BTRC.

Step 4: Obtaining the License: After confirming the final payments, the BTRC will issue the official License for International Gateway (IGW) Services. This license authorizes the holder to establish and operate international communication services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards.

Submit a renewal application on official letterhead to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), including necessary details and supporting documents.

Step 2: Verification and Approval

The BTRC and Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MoPT) will review the application and verify compliance with regulatory guidelines. Additional information or corrective actions may be required if any issues are found.

Step 3: Obtaining Renewed License

Upon approval, the license receives the renewed IGW Services License, which specifies the new validity period and updated terms and conditions. Compliance with these conditions must be maintained throughout the license period.
