RETAIL LICENSE OF PESTICIDE

A Retail Pesticide License is mandated by The Pesticide Ordinance 2018 and The Pesticide Rules 1985, as stipulated in the Bangladesh Gazette, Extra, August 3, 2010. This legal requirement authorizes businesses to sell pesticides to consumers, ensuring compliance with regulations, accurate product information dissemination, and adherence to safety protocols in storage and handling

Step by step process

Step 1 Collect & Submit application form:

The applicant visits the respective Thana office or Metro Office of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) to collect the application form. After depositing the required fee at a designated bank and obtaining the Treasury Challan, the applicant submits the completed form (Form no. 8) along with all required documents and the Treasury Challan to the DAE office.

Step 2 Verification of Application:

Upon receiving the application, the respective Officer at the DAE office verifies the details and documents submitted. This step involves checking the accuracy and completeness of the application to ensure it meets all regulatory requirements.

Step 3 Inspection by Agricultural Extension Officer: The Agricultural Extension Officer schedules an inspection of the applicant’s shop. During this inspection, the officer checks the premises for compliance with safety and regulatory standards required for selling pesticides.

Step 4 Forwarding & Approval: If the inspection is satisfactory, the Thana office or Metro Office forwards the application, along with all verified documents and inspection reports, to the District office of the DAE. The Additional Deputy Director reviews and approves the application, prepares the retail license, and sends it back to the Thana office or Metro Office.

Step 5 Issuance of Retail License: Finally, the Thana office or Metro Office contacts the applicant to collect the retail license. The applicant receives the license, officially authorizing them to retail pesticides, completing the licensing process.

Step by step process

Step 5 Issuance of Retail License: The Thana office or Metro Office then notifies the applicant to collect their renewal certificate. The applicant receives the license, which officially authorizes them to retail pesticides, thereby completing the licensing process.
