Approval for electricity connection for commercial customers with a load of up to 49 KW involves a formal authorization process managed by utility companies or regulatory bodies. This process includes evaluating infrastructure compatibility, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and complying with electrical codes. The legal foundation for this process is established under Section 10(3) of the Bangladesh Power Development Boards order (President’s Order No. 59 of 1972), which mandates BPDP to oversee the “generation, transmission and distribution of power” and the “construction, maintenance and operation of power house and grids.” This ensures a reliable and safe power supply for commercial operations, supporting business activities and technological advancements.
