Process Steps

Step 1 Submission of Application and Payment: The applicant arrives with the required documents, completes the UD application form, deposits the money and service charge (item-wise) to the bank, collects the money receipt, and submits all documents including the receipt to the UD permit section of BGMEA. BGMEA provides a barcode against the money receipt.

Step 2 Application review & Investigation: The application, along with all required documents, is reviewed by the examination section, submitted to the UD permit committee (comprising Directors) for further investigation, and discussed by the examiner who conducts the investigation.

Step 3 Approval and Notification: After completing the investigation, the examiner grants permission for the UD and sends a consent letter to the Border through online and courier.

Step 4 Issuance of Permission to BGMEA Members: The applicant, if a BGMEA member, receives permission for importing raw materials from a foreign country. Only BGMEA members are eligible to receive the UD permit.

Fee Schedule: Internal Fee:

  • BDT 522 (if urgent, BDT 200 will be added)
  • Amendment BDT 300
  • Import: BDT 220 +in urgent case BDT 100 will be added
  • For Local Fabrics: 422 BDT + in urgent case BDT 200 will be added
