A Local Sale Permit is a crucial authorization for businesses operating within Bangladesh’s Economic Zones (EZs) or Export Processing Zones (EPZs), regulating their ability to sell goods in the domestic market. This permit is essential for ensuring compliance with national economic policies.
The legal framework for this permit is established by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Act, 2010, which governs the operation and management of economic zones to foster industrial growth and investment. Additionally, Paragraph 11.11 of the Industrial Policy 2016 allows up to 10% of goods produced in these zones to be sold domestically, subject to the payment of applicable duties and taxes.
