APPROVAL OF WORK PERMIT FOR EXPATRIATE-NEW (INDUSTRIAL)

Obtaining work permits for expatriates in the NE (Industrial) sector is pivotal for Bangladesh’s industrial progress. The approval process, overseen by the government, facilitates skilled foreign professionals’ legal employment, contributing expertise and enhancing the sector’s capabilities. This process is governed by the BIDA Act 2016 and the BIDA Guideline 2023, which provide the legal framework and guidelines for issuing work permits to expatriates.

Required list of all documents:

  1. Registration letter of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) [Original copy, If not submitted earlier]
  2. Board resolution for employment of foreign nation(s) mentioning expatriate name, Nationality, Passport no and salary
  3. Memorandum & Articles of Association of the company duly signed by shareholders along with Certificate of Incorporation [In case of limited company, if not submitted earlier]
  4. Copy of passport with PI VISA and arrival stamps for employees/ Investors
  5. Copy of service contract/ agreement/ appointment letter [In case of employee]
  6. Copy of buyer’s nomination letter in case of employment of buyer’s representative
  7. Academic qualification experience certificate for employment
  8. Visa Recommendation Letter of the Expatriate/Investors.
  9. Attachment of company’s comments as per remarks [If any]

Noted:

[1. All documents shall have to be attested by the Chairman/ CEO/ Managing Director/ Country Manager/ Chief Executive of the Company/ firms

2. Documents must be submitted by the authorized person of the organization including the letter of authorization]

Step by step all process:

Step 1: Collect Information from BIDA Office Website: The first step for the applicant is to collect information from the BIDA office website. This involves thoroughly reviewing the available resources and understanding the requirements and procedures outlined by BIDA.

Step 2 Fill up information through Online: The applicant needs to sign up for an online account on the BIDA website. Once the account is created, the applicant fills out the required information online as specified by BIDA. This involves providing detailed and accurate information and uploading the necessary documents for review.

Step 3 Approval letter: If all the submitted documents are satisfactory, BIDA will issue an online approval letter. This indicates that the application has been reviewed and meets the necessary criteria. The applicant then obtains the approval, completing the process. This approval is essential for proceeding with the intended activities that required BIDA’s authorization.
